Business Information Technology with a Year in Industry BSc (Hons)

Overview

Business increasingly takes place in digital spaces. Our Business Information Technology degree gives you the skills you need to apply computing knowledge to areas typically found in business such as e-commerce, information systems and computer consultancy.

The Course

You learn a combination of business and software technology; together these give you the ability and confidence to operate comfortably in the business world. The first and second year give you a solid grounding in both computing and business. In your final year, you can focus on an area of specialism and move towards your career ambitions.

Year in Industry

You spend a year working in an industrial or commercial environment between Stages 2 and 3. Our students go to a wide range of companies including IBM, Vodaphone, Holiday Extras, and Bank of America. They have also been to overseas employers in locations including Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and the US.

Entry Requirements

• UK: 104-120 UCAS points
• A level: BBB
• BTEC: DDM
• IB: 120 tariff points from your IB Diploma, including Maths at 4 at HL or SL, typically H5, H6, H6 or equivalent
• GCSE: Mathematics grade C/4

Fees and Funding

• UK: Ł9,790*
• International: Ł23,500
• Fees for undergraduate students are Ł1,905 for the year in industry.
• Fees for undergraduate students are Ł1,430 for the year abroad.

You'll be on course for a big future. Graduates who have both IT knowledge and business skills can expect excellent career prospects. Our graduates have gone on to work in software engineering, mobile applications development, systems analysis, consultancy, networking, web design and e-commerce, finance and insurance, commerce, engineering, education, government, and healthcare.
