Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs

The Faculty of Science offers several interdisciplinary graduate programs, including:

• Data Science Program

Data Science Program

The Data Science Program is a highly structured program that incorporates 21 credit hours in courses, a case study series, and a capstone project.

• Admission to the program is competitive and overseen by the Chair of the Programme, in concurrence with Graduate Studies committees of the departments of Computer Science and Mathematics & Statistics.
• The minimum requirements for admission include:
  • A second-class 4-year bachelor's degree in a relevant area.
  • Evidence of at least one college-level course or equivalent knowledge in multivariate calculus, statistical inference, and computer programming in a high-level programming language.
  • Completion of three online non-credit propaedeutic courses before the start of the program, covering statistical inference, programming in R and Python, and linear algebra for regression.
  • Meeting the English Proficiency requirements described in the School of Graduate Studies Calendar.
• The program is offered by full-time study in the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics & Statistics.

Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology Program

The Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology Program offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs, with admission requirements and program details available upon request.

Environmental Science Program

The Environmental Science Program offers Master of Science and Ph.D. programs, with admission requirements and program details available upon request.

Scientific Computing Program

The Scientific Computing Program offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs, with admission requirements and program details available upon request.

Undergraduate Programs

The Faculty of Science provides various undergraduate programs, including majors, minors, and honours.

• Students can choose from a range of science majors, including dietetics.
• The faculty also offers study abroad opportunities at Memorial University and study at Grenfell Campus.

Research and Teaching
