Introduction to the Craig Dobbin Legacy Programme
The Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) administers the Craig Dobbin Legacy Programme (CDLP), an initiative of the ICUF, the University College Dublin's (UCD) Centre for Canadian Studies, and UCD's College of Arts and Humanities.
Programme Details
The Craig Dobbin Legacy Programme consists of:
- 30 scholarships total to help deepen the ties between Canada and Ireland
- 15 Scholarships for UCD students to come to Canada
- 15 Scholarships for Canadian students to go to Ireland
- At least 3 scholarships dedicated to strengthening the connection between Memorial University and UCD
- 5,000 - 7,000 EURO funding
- 2 - 4 week duration
- Focus on the Humanities and Social Sciences in particular, but interdisciplinary approaches are welcomed
Background
In April of 2024, James Kelly, a representative of ICUF, visited Memorial University to speak about the long-standing connection between the two institutions and to highlight the Craig Dobbin Legacy Scholarships. This programme is a testament to the strong bond between Canada and Ireland, aiming to foster academic exchange and cooperation.
