National Student Exchange Program
The National Student Exchange program is a consortium of nearly 200 colleges and universities in the United States and extends beyond the borders of the United States to include some Canadian Provinces. Mississippi State University is a member of this program.
Program Description
The NSE program provides the opportunity for eligible students to attend a college or university in another state for up to one calendar year without having to pay for the high cost of out-of-state tuition. Students register, pay tuition and fees at Mississippi State University as they usually do; they do not pay tuition and fees at the host campus, but are responsible for room and board.
Program Benefits
- Students remain as degree-seeking, registered students at Mississippi State University.
- Any financial aid that is normally available can be applied to the exchange obligations.
- Because NSE is an officially approved program of the university, all courses with their respective credit hours and earned grades will be recorded on the Mississippi State University transcript and will be calculated in the GPA.
Program Participation
Mississippi State University students who participate in the National Student Exchange program are subject to the following conditions:
- They must be eligible to participate in the program.
- They must register and pay tuition and fees at Mississippi State University.
- They are responsible for room and board at the host campus.
- They remain degree-seeking students at Mississippi State University.
