Master of Science in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences (VMS) - Infectious Diseases Concentration (VIDC)
The Master of Science in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Infectious Diseases is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with advanced knowledge in the field.
Program Requirements
- CVM 8303: Advanced Immunology (3 hours)
- BCH 6013: Principles of Biochemistry (3 hours) or BCH 6713: Molecular Biology
- One statistics course (1-2 hours)
- One seminar course (CVM 8011 or equivalent) (1 hour)
- Equivalency of seminars and coursework is determined by the student's graduate committee
- Graduate-level courses (at least 12 hours of all coursework must be at 8000 level or higher) (11 hours)
- CVM 9000: Research in Veterinary Medicine (1-13 hours)
- Total Hours: 25-37
Examination and Thesis Requirements
A final examination (oral and/or written) is required, covering both the major and supportive fields and including defense of the thesis. Students must present an open seminar of the thesis research just prior to oral final examinations.
University and College Regulations
The student must adhere to the University and College regulations regarding his/her graduate program. Previous graduate-level statistics courses can satisfy the statistics requirement with approval of the student's graduate committee.
