Introduction to the Program

The Beijing University of Science and Technology's Digital Economy (MDE) professional master's degree program is designed to cultivate high-level, innovative, and practical talents in the field of digital economy. The program is committed to fostering students with a strong sense of social responsibility, a global vision, and innovative spirit, who possess solid theoretical foundations, technical skills, and methods in digital economy, and are familiar with the rules and laws of digital economy management.

Program Characteristics

The program has three distinctive directions, precisely matching social needs:

• Digital technology and industry: Focusing on industrial internet, smart supply chain, and digital production, providing solutions for the green, low-carbon, and digital transformation of traditional industries.
• Digital trade and finance: Combining practical orientation, researching cross-border e-commerce, digital trade policies, and data-driven finance, cultivating complex talents who can drive international trade digital transformation and financial risk control.
• Digital analysis and application: Focusing on data science, surrounding e-commerce, social media marketing, user behavior analysis, and strengthening students' big data analysis and business decision-making capabilities.

Recruitment Plan

Recruitment Number

The non-full-time digital economy master's program plans to recruit 34 students.

Tuition and Duration

The program lasts for 2 years, with a total tuition fee of 180,000 yuan, paid in two installments over the two years.

Scholarships

The scholarship rules for non-full-time students are subject to the policies published by the School of Economics and Management's Graduate Center each year.

Application Requirements

Basic Requirements

1. Citizens of the People's Republic of China.
2. Support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, obey the law, and have good moral character.
3. Physical health must meet the requirements of the state and the school.
4. Academic requirements:
   • National recognized undergraduate degree or expected to graduate.
   • Possess a national recognized undergraduate degree or equivalent.
   • Have a national recognized high vocational (specialist) graduation certificate or equivalent, two years after graduation.
   • Have a master's or doctoral degree.
5. In-service graduate students must obtain approval from their employer before applying.
6. Those who have already obtained a master's or doctoral degree must provide certification.

Equivalent Academic Ability

Those who apply with equivalent academic ability must meet one of the following conditions in addition to the basic requirements:

1. Publish a paper related to the applied major in a core journal as the first author.
2. Provide transcripts of all undergraduate courses related to the applied major, with a passing grade, and stamped by the teaching affairs office of the university where the courses were taken.

Examination and Admission

Initial Examination

The initial examination includes:

1. Thought political theory (100 points).
2. English (100 points).
3. Economic comprehensive ability (150 points).
4. Digital economy professional foundation (150 points).

Re-examination

The re-examination includes professional level assessment, foreign language level assessment, and comprehensive quality assessment. The assessment method can be written, interview, or experimental operation, and the specific assessment method will be announced by the college.

Enrollment

Enrollment is based on the student's performance in the initial examination, re-examination, and assessment of their ideological and moral character. The school will determine the list of admitted students based on the comprehensive evaluation of the students' performance.

Education and Degree Granting

Students who complete the required courses, pass the assessments, and defend their thesis within the prescribed time limit will be awarded a master's degree.

Accommodation

According to the school's regulations, non-full-time graduate students are not provided with accommodation.

Violation Handling

Any violation of the examination rules or discipline will be handled according to the relevant laws and regulations, and may result in cancellation of admission or expulsion from the school.
