Program Overview


Master Physique Fondamentale et Applications

The Master Physique Fondamentale et Applications is a program offered by the University of Montpellier.

Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • In M1: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Physics-Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • In M2: Hold a Master's degree in Physics or equivalent.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the program is based on a limited number of places available per course and per year. The number of places available for each course is as follows:


  • 20 students for the common M1 Astro-CCP course
  • 15 students for the professional courses (PhyMaTech and PhysNum)
  • 10 students for the research courses (NanoQuant, PhIMV, SoftMat)
  • 3 students for the Pre-Agrťgation course

Application Procedure

The application procedure varies depending on the student's status:


  • For M1 students: Applications are made through the MonMaster website for French, European Union, and non-EU students who have studied in France the previous year.
  • For M2 students: Applications are made through the eCandidat website for French, European Union, and non-EU students who have studied in France the previous year. In parallel, students in alternation must contact the CFA.

The calendar for the 2026 academic year is as follows:


  • February 2, 2026: Publication of the training offer
  • February 17 - March 16, 2026: Deposit of applications
  • June 3 - 16, 2026: Main admission phase
  • June 19 - July 19, 2026: Complementary phase
