Program Overview

University Program Information

The University of Montpellier offers a unique program that combines art and science. This program is a collaboration between the university's art and culture service and the Faculty of Sciences.

Program Description

The program is designed for students in their second year (L2) and consists of a series of workshops with artist Alba Sagols. The workshops focus on the concept of protocol, which is common to both art and science, as a starting point for individual or collective artistic productions.

  • The program includes 5 sessions of 2 hours each.
  • Students explore various artistic mediums, including videos, sounds, micro-sculptures, text/image editions, and documentary study drawings.
  • The program culminates in an exhibition that showcases the students' multiform productions, highlighting the themes and questions that connect art and science.

Exhibition Details

  • The exhibition will take place from February 15 to May 18, 2025, at the MO.CO. (H¶tel des Collections), Salon des publics.
  • The vernissage will be held on February 15 at 12:00 PM.
  • The exhibition will feature the students' works in three display cases, similar to those found in natural history museums or anatomical museums.

Research and Creation Residency

The university also offers a research and creation residency program that combines art and geology. This program is designed for artists and researchers who want to explore the intersection of art and geology.

  • The program focuses on sculpture, poetry, and minerals.
  • It provides a unique opportunity for artists and researchers to collaborate and create new works that reflect the connection between art and geology.
