Program Overview
The Acupuncture program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of acupuncture principles and practices. The program aims to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to establish a diagnosis, prescribe acupuncture points, and master acupuncture treatment with its indications and contraindications.
Target Audience
The program is intended for:
- French medical doctors (general practitioners, specialists such as neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians)
- Doctors of dental surgery
- Foreign medical doctors holding a diploma that allows them to practice medicine in their country or the country where the diploma was obtained
- Medical interns who can enroll in the program only if their internship and thesis will be completed before December 31, 2025
Program Objectives
The objective of this formation is the comprehension and acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge, enabling the establishment of a diagnosis from a clinical examination, prescription of acupuncture points, and mastery of acupuncture treatment with its indications and contraindications.

The program lasts 2 years.
Teaching Methods
The teaching is organized in the form of 2-day seminars (Friday and Saturday) spread from September to May, approximately once a month.
- In the 1st year, there are 10 seminars.
- In the 2nd year, there are 9 seminars. The practical training includes 80 hours of clinical internships in a hospital setting or medical office with a certified acupuncture master for each year.

Assessment and Evaluation
- A probatory exam for admission to the 1st year (for doctors not in possession of the DIU initiation in acupuncture)
- Written test for each year with a required average of 10/20 and a minimum of 6/20 per subject
- Validation of practical stages through a roadmap presented by the student and signed by the student and the master of stage
Admission Criteria
- Authorization of registration is indispensable and must be attached to the pre-registration file.
- The application must include a CV, a letter of motivation, a copy of the medical doctor diploma, and a document certifying registration with the medical council.
- Deposit of applications: from April 5 to August 30, 2025, inclusive.
Capacité and Dates

Post-Graduation
- Level of exit: Bac+11
- Professional outlets: Doctors who have obtained their acupuncture diploma are recognized by the Council of the Order of Doctors as Acupuncturists. They can then practice this discipline in private practice or in specialized consultations (Hospital - Dispensary).
