Master 1 – Systèmes d'Information et Contrôle de Gestion

The Master 1 SICG at IAE Montpellier offers a comprehensive education combining control management and information system management. Through a approach combining theory and practice, students develop key skills in financial analysis, reporting, Business Intelligence, and project management.

Description of the Program

The SICG course aims to train students in the profession of management controller. Professional integration is achieved through several missions/stages in companies throughout the two years, allowing students to associate theoretical knowledge with practical problem-solving. The training is focused on both the management dimension of the profession (piloting) and the information systems dimension, with practical situations on ERP (SAP) and Business Intelligence software (Qlikview, Business Object, SAP Predictive Analysis).

• Train experts in management control and information systems.
• Develop skills in piloting, financial reporting, and performance management.
• Master digital tools and data analysis technologies.
• Promote professional integration in companies (alternation/stages).

• Elaboration and implementation of management and monitoring tools, reports
• Process management
• Cost decomposition and calculation
• Budget design, surveillance, and gap analysis
• Mastery of IT use: expert spreadsheet (TOSA), databases, ERP – Data analysis
• Knowledge of business/functioning of the company – Good English level

• Mandatory 5-month minimum internship

Academic Prerequisites

Admission to the Master 1 SICG is done in two steps:

1. Admissibility: Selection based on the application file.
2. Admission: Written tests (dissertation and/or case study) and individual interview

• Validated Bac+3 (180 ECTS)
• Diploma from a business school or license in management, sciences, or techniques
• Basics in accounting and finance
• Appetence for information systems
• Good level of English
