The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has established unique and rigorous pathways for students seeking early assurance of admission to medical school. These pathways encourage applicants from a range of backgrounds, including undergraduates who have declared majors beyond traditional scientific fields, through the FlexMed Program.
Program Details
FlexMed Program
The FlexMed Program is designed for students who have declared majors beyond traditional scientific fields. Students must complete at least one academic year of college biology or college chemistry by the application deadline.
Institutional Partnership Program
Once accepted to the FlexMed or the Institutional Partnership Program, students are free to pursue their educational plan unencumbered by the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
Program Requirements
- Students accepted to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are expected to adhere to all program requirements prior to entry, as detailed in the "After Acceptance Procedures" section of the Early Admissions Process.
- Completion of at least one academic year of college biology or college chemistry by the application deadline is required.
