Master of Public Health Program
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Baylor University is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote population health in a wide range of public health settings. The program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and is committed to providing a rigorous academic experience that integrates service, ethics, and leadership into every aspect of public health.
Program Overview
The MPH program at Baylor University is a 42-43 credit hour program that can be completed in two years. The program offers three degree options: Community Health Science, Epidemiology, and Environmental Health Science. Each degree option is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in public health principles and practices, as well as specialized knowledge and skills in their chosen area of concentration.
Degree Options
- Community Health Science: This degree option focuses on the social and behavioral factors that influence health and health disparities. Students in this program will learn how to design and implement health promotion programs, conduct community-based research, and advocate for health policy changes.
- Epidemiology: This degree option focuses on the study of the occurrence, distribution, and determinants of health and disease in human populations. Students in this program will learn how to design and conduct epidemiologic studies, analyze health data, and interpret research findings.
- Environmental Health Science: This degree option focuses on the human health effects of exposure to chemical, physical, and biological agents in the community, workplace, and/or home. Students in this program will learn how to assess and mitigate environmental health risks, develop environmental health policies, and communicate environmental health information to the public.

Application requirements for the MPH program include:

Tuition and Funding
Current tuition rates for the MPH program can be found through Baylor One Stop Student Financial Services. Prospective students who apply to the MPH program will receive consideration for scholarship awards, which currently cover up to 50% of tuition for competitive applicants. In addition, students in full-time graduate assistantship positions work 20 hours per week and are awarded a monthly stipend.
