Program Overview
Hankamer School of Business Undergraduate Management Programs
The Hankamer School of Business offers undergraduate management programs designed to provide students with a framework for stewardship of organizational resources, including people, money, and time. The curriculum emphasizes the need for managers to grow as principled leaders who demonstrate and promote sound ethical decision-making.
Why Major in Management?
The management curriculum provides students with a comprehensive understanding of organizational resources, including people, money, and time. The program aims to develop principled leaders who demonstrate sound ethical decision-making and serve their organization and the people they manage. Students can choose from two optional Areas of Emphasis to enhance their consulting or project management skills, preparing them for specific career paths.
Management Degree Plan
The management degree plan requires students to complete the following courses:
- University/BBA Core:
- Required courses:
- MGT 4305 - Principled Leadership
- MGT 4320 - Negotiating and Conflict Resolution
- Select three (3) from the following:
- MGT 3335/INB 3333 - Doing Business Across Cultures
- MGT 4321 - Campus Leadership Practicum
- MGT 4330 - Project Management
- MGT 4332 - Advanced Project Management (Spring only)
- MGT 4336 - Human Resource Management
- MGT 4355 - Management Consulting
- MGT 4395 - Internship in Management
- BUS 3350 - Christian Ethics in Business
- MIS 3320* - Systems Analysis and Design
- Required courses:
Optional Emphasis in Consulting
Students may enhance their marketability with an emphasis in Consulting, which consists of the following preferred electives:
- MGT 4330 - Project Management
- MGT 4355 - Management Consulting
- MIS 3320 - Systems Analysis and Design*
Optional Emphasis in Project Management
Students may also choose an emphasis in Project Management, which consists of the following preferred electives:
- MGT 4330 - Project Management
- MGT 4332 - Advanced Project Management (Spring only)
- MIS 3320* - Systems Analysis and Design
*MIS 3320 requires a prerequisite of MIS 3301, which may be waived for students taking this course to fulfill a Management major requirement.
