Program Overview
Accelerated BS Biology/MS Biology of Global Health
Overview
The Accelerated BS Biology/MS Biology of Global Health program is designed for students to earn both the Biology (BS) and Biology of Global Health (MS) degrees through an accelerated pathway.
Requirements
To earn the Biology (BS) and Biology of Global Health (MS) degrees via this accelerated pathway, a student must complete all basic requirements for the Biology (BS), as well as the Biology of Global Health (MS) degree requirements.
Coursework
A maximum of 4 credits of Graduate level course work will count toward both BS and MS degrees. These 4 credit hours include 4000- or 5000-level courses from BIO, CHE, ENV, or BMS that will double-count as both BS and MS credit.
Shared Courses
The following courses will be shared between the BS and MS degrees:
- BIO 4302: General Microbiology (3 hours)
- BIO 4102: General Microbiology Lab (1 hour)
Program Details
Most students who fulfill the requirements for 4000-level courses in the Biology (BS) will simultaneously fulfill the maximum number of 4000-level course credits allowed for credit toward the Biology of Global Health (MS) degree, but those courses must be approved for graduate credit and approved by the Program Coordinator.
