Program Overview

The accounting major provides students with the theories and procedures necessary to prepare them for the many facets of the accounting profession, such as public, managerial, tax, and government accounting. Students graduating from the department are prepared to obtain employment in a competitive job market, start a business, or continue their education in graduate and professional degree programs.


Program Details

  • The program is designed to be completed in four years.
  • The program consists of 120 credits.
  • Students who graduate with a bachelor's degree in accounting and have taken the appropriate electives are qualified to sit for the CPA exam in the State of Nevada.
  • Additional education is required beyond a bachelor's degree in accounting to become a licensed CPA.
