Program Overview


Beginning Farmer & Rancher Program

The Beginning Farmer & Rancher Program is designed to provide knowledge and skills in business planning, production, and farm management to new farmers and ranchers.


Program Details

The program has seen significant success, with 44 new beginning farmers and ranchers increasing their knowledge in the field. Notably, 20% of the cohort were veterans, and 59 attendees participated in the BFR Farm Tour + Farm to Fork Dinner.

The program has received positive feedback from participants, with one stating, "Before this opportunity, I didn't know that I could produce food on a small parcel of land. I didn't know the avenues to take to get my micro farm started, I felt lost and overwhelmed of what to do and who to contact. This course has given me resources to start my micro farm."
