The University of New Hampshire (UNH) offers various programs through its colleges, including the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA).
College of Life Sciences and Agriculture
The COLSA serves as a bridge to world-class experiential learning and research, best-in-industry organizations offering internships, clinicals, and jobs, and a growing global reach that spans scholars, governments, and heads of industry. The college's faculty, staff, and students are engaged in work at a global level, reinforcing opportunities for exchanging ideas and sharing practices where there is deep thematic alignment in research programs.
Combining Interests in Horticulture & Digital Media
Eliudes Camps Marcano, a student from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, spent a summer at UNH exploring and building upon his interests in agriculture and media production. He worked with the COLSA Fruit & Vegetable Team, managing social media for the labs of Assistant Professor Chris Hernandez and Research Assistant Professor Anna Wallingford. Marcano's goal is to support his home in Puerto Rico by helping to reduce the territory's reliance on importing most of its food.
Pursuing a Passion of Working With Animals
Gillian Newbold, a student from the State University of New York at Morrisville, completed a summer internship at UNH's Organic Dairy Research Farm. She built upon her dairy farm experience, caring for an organic herd, using new equipment, making feed, and learning about pastureland management. Newbold's goal is to work as a herd manager, overseeing nutrition and care for cows.
