Admission Requirements
General Admission Regulations
All applications must be accompanied by certified full academic transcripts, a certified copy of ID or passport, and a research concept note (not applicable to honours or coursework master's degrees). International applicants must submit a SAQA evaluation of their completed qualification, TOEFL or IELTS test results (if applicable), and a certified copy of their passport.
- All postgraduate applications are subject to departmental admissions processes.
- Admissions are based on the content of and performance in the prior degree, bridging arrangements (where required), academic merit, and prior work experience (if applicable).
- Admission to all qualifications is subject to supervisory capacity and/or research projects in the field of specialisation in a department.
- Complying with the minimum admissions requirements does not automatically guarantee admission to the degree.
- Proposed research studies for masters and doctoral applicants should align with the research focus of the relevant department.
- All postgraduate applicants must be proficient in English, as English is the official language of tuition, communication, and correspondence at the University of Pretoria.
- All applicants must be computer literate and have access to an internet-enabled device, as well as consistent email and internet access.
Minimum Admissions Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree or a relevant postgraduate qualification.
- A weighted average of at least 60% for the honours degree or relevant postgraduate qualification.

There are no electives, and all modules must be passed.
Examinations and Pass Requirements
The pass mark for the research article (BEM 811) is 50%. A pass mark of at least 50% is also required in the examination of each module.

- Module content: This module equips the student to conduct independent research by executing a research project on a relevant topic, of which the findings are reported in an academic article.
- BEM 822: Strategic Issues in Marketing

- Module content: This module aims to apply theoretical paradigms and perspectives in a strategic marketing context.
- BEM 882: Marketing Management
- Credits: 20.00
- Module content: This module introduces various marketing themes, which will be debated to provide new insights, scientific reasoning, and practical application.
