The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Investment Management programme focuses on the global investment environment and includes topics covering all facets of investment management. The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Investment Management degree is an Affiliated Program with CFA Institute. Academic institutions that embed a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK)including the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conductin their curricula may be eligible for participation in the University Affiliation Program. An affiliated university signals to its students and to employers that the curriculum is closely aligned with the practice of investment management and is helpful to students preparing for the CFA Program exams.

Admission Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Achievement level: English Home Language or English First Additional Language: 5
• Mathematics: 6
• APS: 34 Life Orientation is excluded when calculating the APS.

Application Process

Applicants currently in Grade 12 must apply with their final Grade 11 (or equivalent) results. Applicants who have completed Grade 12 must apply with their final NSC or equivalent qualification results. Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee admission.

International Students

International students should refer to the International undergraduate prospectus for specific requirements.

Transferring Students

A transferring student is a student who, at the time of applying at the University of Pretoria, is/was a registered student at another tertiary institution. A transferring student will be considered for admission based on NSC or equivalent qualification and previous academic performance.

Returning Students

A returning student is a student who, at the time of application for a degree programme, is/was a registered student at UP, and wants to transfer to another degree at UP. A returning student will be considered for admission based on NSC or equivalent qualification and previous academic performance.

Minimum Duration

The minimum duration of the program is 3 years, full-time.
