The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Information Systems degree is designed to teach students the application and use of computers and information systems in an organisation. This programme combines a broad background in economic and management sciences with information technology (IT) to equip students with the skills to design and implement systems for storing and manipulating data.

The Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Information Systems programme at the University of Pretoria is the only degree in South Africa that is internationally accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) of the USA. The programme is jointly presented with the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology.

Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for this programme include:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Independent Examination Board (IEB) qualification
- A minimum achievement level of 5 in English Home Language or English First Additional Language
- A minimum achievement level of 5 in Mathematics
- A minimum APS of 30
- Life Orientation is excluded when calculating the APS

The minimum duration of this programme is 3 years, full-time.
