The Postgraduate Diploma in Dentistry is a one-year program offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Ethics and Jurisprudence
This module focuses on the rules of conduct for healthcare professionals as formulated by the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA). It covers professional conduct, ethics, and jurisprudence, emphasizing the importance of a lifelong commitment to sound professional and ethical practices.
Examinations and Pass Requirements
- Examinations in the basic subject and the main field of study may take place every semester.
- To be admitted to the examination in the main field of study, the student must have passed the basic subject.
- A final mark of at least 50% is required to pass.
- A student may not enter for the postgraduate diploma's examination in the same subject more than twice, subject to exceptions approved by the Dean.
Pass with Distinction
The diploma is awarded with distinction to students who obtain at least 75% in both the main field of study and the basic subject.
