IUD Interventional Cardiology - “Advanced Management of Coronary Artery Disease” Option

The DIU (Inter-University Diploma) in Interventional Cardiology, with a focus on advanced management of coronary artery disease, is a theoretical and practical teaching program that aims to complement initial training by providing in-depth knowledge in four specific areas of interventional cardiology:

• Complex angioplasties
• Angioplasty of chronic coronary occlusions
• Angioplasty in precarious hemodynamic contexts with and without circulatory assistance
• Integrated coronary imaging and physiology

Upon completion of the program, the interventional cardiologist will have acquired advanced theoretical knowledge and skills, enabling them to:

• Evaluate the severity of complex coronary artery disease
• Choose the appropriate therapy for the patient's clinical situation (medical, surgical, or transcatheter treatment)
• Assess the benefits and risks of procedural complications
• Anticipate, prevent, and treat potential peri-procedural complications
• Acquire techniques for interventional catheterization adapted to the treatment of complex coronary artery disease

The program allows participants to integrate into an interventional cardiology team as a senior operator.
