  • Exploring films and artwork
  • Discussing important scientific and technological developments
  • Debating controversial ethical issues
  • Examining how texts written 300 years ago can be relevant to political situations today

  • Art cinema
  • Film theory
  • The intersections between film and theatre, and film and literature

Student Testimonial

"If people today looked back on the fundamental thoughts of philosophy, they would be able to treat the world with more care. I now have a concrete idea of the fundamental works in philosophy, and know how to use them when looking at other art mediums." - Waco Yokohama, MA (Hons) Philosophy and Film student session 2018/19. #+#I removed the last line as it contained a call to action and contact information.
