Module Aims
The module aims to promote an appreciation of the role of experimental studies of behaviour and neuroimaging of the brain in understanding psychiatric disorders. It also seeks to provide knowledge of drug treatments available for psychiatric disorders and the rationale for their use. Additionally, it aims to impart an understanding of the neurobiology of mood disorders, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and addictions. Awareness of current research on drugs of abuse, with an emphasis on cannabinoids and the debate regarding their use for medicinal purposes, is another key objective.
