The Elite Summer School in Ocean Engineering is a fully funded summer programme offered by Harbin Engineering University, China and University of Dundee, United Kingdom. This programme provides a unique opportunity for elite PhD students from around the world to come together, study, and work as a team.

Programme Objectives

The Elite Summer School in Ocean Engineering aims to:

• Provide a venue for elite PhD students to meet, study, and work together
• Offer PhD students the chance to learn about fundamental and applied topics not typically covered in common programmes
• Establish a world-class annual educational event that helps educate future Ocean Engineering leaders

Programme Structure

The annual summer school covers three categories of topics:

1. A scientific technical topic (approximately 50% of the total time), including lectures, tutorials, and projects
2. Industry-related subjects (around 25%)
3. Topics on general skills (around 25%), such as:

• Scientific writing and presentations
• Time management
• Stress control

This structured approach ensures a comprehensive learning experience, combining technical knowledge with practical skills and industry insights.
