Program Overview


Program Overview

The K-State New Employee Welcome program, also known as KSNEW, is an on-campus experience designed to introduce new employees to the university's history, traditions, and resources. The program is held once a month for half a day, with an additional session in August.


Program Schedule

The program schedule includes the following topics and sessions:


  • 8:00-8:20 a.m.: Registration, Welcome, and Housekeeping
  • 8:20-8:50 a.m.: Discover K-State: History and Traditions
    • This session introduces new employees to the rich history of K-State, including its most cherished traditions.
  • 8:50-9:20 a.m.: Discover K-State: Future Focused
    • The President's Office provides information on K-State's key initiatives and projects currently underway to help achieve its mission and goals.
  • 9:30-9:45 a.m.: People, Culture, Values
    • This session introduces new employees to the people, culture, and values that guide K-State.
  • 9:45-10:45 a.m.: Understanding Your Benefits
    • This session is a follow-up to on-demand benefit training and includes ample Q&A time with the benefits team.
  • 11:00-11:30 a.m.: Key Resources
    • This session shares how employees navigate K-State and the resources that will allow them to be successful, including:
      • IT services
      • Systems
      • University structure
      • PPM
      • University Handbook
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: K-State Non-Discrimination Policy (PPM 3010)
    • The Office of Institutional Equity presents information on PPM 3010, the university non-discrimination policy, including:
      • Prohibited conduct
      • Recognizing prohibited conduct
      • The Policy's jurisdiction
      • How to make a report under the Policy
      • How reports are reviewed and resolved
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m.: Lunch with Networking and Q&A
    • Lunch is provided with RSVP.
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Campus Tour (optional)
    • A tour of the K-State campus, provided through the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, allows participants to discover where to find buildings and resources across campus.
