Introduction

The Biosciences and Biotechnologies PhD program is offered by the University of Bari Aldo Moro. The program is coordinated by Prof. Giovanna Valenti and is administered by the Department of Biosciences, Biotechnology and Environment.

Curricula

The program offers five curricula:

1. Biomolecular Sciences and Bioinformatics (Scientific disciplinary sectors: BIO/10, BIO/11, MED/46)
2. Cellular and Molecular Physiology and Biotechnology (Scientific disciplinary sectors: BIO/09, BIO/17, VET/10, AGR/17, MED/04, ING-IND/34)
3. Biochemical Sciences and Cellular Biology (Scientific disciplinary sectors: BIO/10, BIO/12, BIO/13, BIO/14, BIO/16, CHIM/11)
4. Genetics, Microbiology and Molecular Evolution (Scientific disciplinary sectors: BIO/18, BIO/19, BIO/08, MED 03)
5. Morphofunctional Biology (Scientific disciplinary sectors: BIO/04, BIO/05, BIO/06, BIO/07)

There are 12 positions available, including:

• 8 positions with a scholarship financed by the University, distributed as follows:
  • 2 positions for curriculum 1
  • 2 positions for curriculum 2
  • 2 positions for curriculum 3
  • 1 position for resume 4
  • 1 position for resume 5
• 3 positions without a scholarship, distributed as follows:
  • 1 position for resume 1
  • 1 position for resume 2
  • 1 position for resume 5
• 1 position reserved for scholarship holders in specific international mobility programs (HORIZON 2020 FRAMEWORK PROGRAM CALL: H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020 PROJECT: ASTROTECH)
