Program Overview

The Chemistry Degree Course at the University of Bari aims to train graduates who possess:


  • adequate knowledge in the various sectors of chemistry, in the basic, theoretical, experimental, and applied aspects, and adequate basic preparation in mathematical, computer, and physical disciplines;
  • adequate knowledge and skills to understand the properties of matter and its transformations at the atomic/molecular level;
  • knowledge of the scientific method of investigation and the main laboratory techniques and instrumentation to:
    • conduct an experiment by planning its times and operational methods;
    • collect and interpret scientific data derived from observation and measurements made in the laboratory;
    • critically evaluate the collected data;
  • awareness of environmental issues and those related to safety and sustainability in chemical activities.
