MS0074 Mathematical Statistics with Forest Applications

- Perform calculations of estimates and variance estimates with data from common probability samples
- Explain basic concepts and approaches in statistical inference
- Calculate confidence intervals and perform hypothesis tests, setting the results in their context
- Explain basic concepts and approaches in the area of linear regression and formulate regression models from a given problem formulation
- Apply statistical methods and regression models for processing, analysis, and presentation of numerical data, and be able to choose an appropriate analysis method and model based on the question and conditions
- Evaluate linear regression models and interpret the results with regard to ecological context
