Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Basic Eligibility: A degree at the undergraduate level of at least 180 H—gskolepoðng or the equivalent foreign degree.
- Special Eligibility: Specialization comprising at least 60 H—gskolepoðng in one of the following subjects/fields:

- Additional Requirements: 15 hp ecology and English 6.
Program Content
The program consists of 120 H—gskolepoðng and is taught in English. The first year of the program includes profiled courses totaling 60 hp, where students acquire broad knowledge and understanding in the conservation and management of wild animal populations. The program also includes courses in inventory methods, population ecological models, conservation biological principles, social science methods, and various management models.

Program Goals
The program aims to provide students with:
- Knowledge and Understanding: In-depth knowledge of the main field of study, including both broad knowledge of the field and specialized knowledge in certain areas.
- Skills and Abilities: The ability to critically and systematically integrate knowledge and analyze, assess, and handle complex phenomena, questions, and situations.
- Judgment and Approach: The ability to make assessments with regard to relevant scientific, social, and ethical aspects, and to show awareness of ethical aspects of research and development work.
Examination and Degree
The program leads to a Master's degree with a major in Biology. The degree requires:
- Credits: 120 H—gskolepoðng
- Courses: At least 90 H—gskolepoðng at the advanced level, with at least 30 H—gskolepoðng in specialized courses within the main field of study.
- Thesis: A thesis of at least 30 H—gskolepoðng.
