Program Overview

The Svampkunskap program is an introduction to mycology, taking place from June 6 to August 30, 2026. This course is designed for individuals with basic knowledge of fungi who wish to gain an overview of mycology, the biology and ecological roles of fungi, and improve their ability to identify common species.

Program Objectives

The program aims to provide participants with the following knowledge and skills:

• Identify 200 species of edible and poisonous fungi
• Understand fungal systematics and how to determine fungal species
• Learn about the ecology and significance of fungi in nature
• Explore the various uses of fungi

Program Structure

The program consists of two mandatory meetings:

Meeting 1

• Date: Saturday - Sunday, June 13 - 14
• Location: Uppsala
• Activities: Lectures, excursions, discussions, and exercises

Meeting 2

• Date: Wednesday - Sunday, August 26 - 30
• Location: Billingen, Sk—vde
• Activities: Excursions, species determination exercises, fungal ecology, discussions, and a final species test
