Behörighetskrav
To be admitted to the Euroforester master's program, the following requirements must be met:
- Basic eligibility: a degree at the undergraduate level consisting of at least 180 higher education credits or equivalent foreign degree
- Special eligibility: specialization consisting of at least 60 credits in one of the following areas:
- Skogsbruksvetenskap (Forestry Science)
- Skogshushĺllning (Forest Management)
- Skogsvetenskap (Forest Science)
- Biologi (Biology)
- Miljövetenskap (Environmental Science)
- Naturresursförvaltning (Natural Resource Management)
- Additionally, knowledge equivalent to English 6 is required. This is fulfilled by those who have a degree at the undergraduate level of 180 higher education credits from a Swedish university. For applicants from certain English-speaking countries, special rules apply.
- The requirements for special eligibility can also be met by those who have equivalent knowledge through a foreign degree or if equivalent knowledge has been acquired in another way.

Beskrivning av programmet
The Euroforester master's program has an international profile and focuses on sustainable management of forest ecosystems and forest landscapes, as well as adapting forestry to global environmental changes. The program gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of temperate and boreal forests in Europe.
Innehĺll och genomförande
The program's core consists of profiling courses given during the first year of study. These courses provide a broad understanding and knowledge within the main subject area, focusing on the management and climate adaptation of temperate and boreal forests, ecology, restoration, and forest policy.
Kurser i programmet
The program includes the following courses:
- Year 1:
- Skötsel av tempererade skogar (Management of Temperate Forests), 15 credits
- Hĺllbar skogsskötsel analys och anpassningar (Sustainable Forestry Analysis and Adaptations), 15 credits
- Nationell och internationell skogspolitik (National and International Forest Policy), 15 credits
- Ädellövskog historia, ekologi och skötsel (Deciduous Forest History, Ecology, and Management), 15 credits
- Year 2:
- Skoglig föryngring (Forest Regeneration), 7.5 credits
- Skoglig modellering (Forest Modeling), 7.5 credits
- Självständigt arbete i Skogsbruksvetenskap (Independent Project in Forestry Science), 30/60 credits

The general goals for education at the undergraduate and advanced levels are described in the Higher Education Act, Chapter 1, Sections 8-9.
Mĺl för masterexamen
In accordance with the annex to the ordinance for the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the student must meet the following goals for a master's degree:
- Kunskap och förstĺelse (Knowledge and Understanding)
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the main field of study, including both broad knowledge in the field and significantly deeper knowledge in certain parts of the field, as well as deeper insight into current research and development work.
- Demonstrate advanced methodological knowledge in the main field of study.
- Färdighet och förmĺga (Skill and Ability)
- Demonstrate the ability to critically and systematically integrate knowledge and to analyze, assess, and handle complex phenomena, issues, and situations, even with limited information.
- Demonstrate the ability to critically, independently, and creatively identify and formulate issues, to plan and carry out qualified tasks within given time frames, and thereby contribute to the development of knowledge, as well as to evaluate this work.
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly account for and discuss their conclusions and the knowledge and arguments that form the basis for these in dialogue with different groups, both nationally and internationally.
- Demonstrate the skill required to participate in research and development work or to work independently in other qualified activities.
- Värderingsförmĺga och förhĺllningssätt (Judgment and Approach)
- Demonstrate the ability to make assessments within the main field of study, taking into account relevant scientific, social, and ethical aspects, as well as demonstrating awareness of ethical aspects of research and development work.
- Demonstrate insight into the possibilities and limitations of science, its role in society, and people's responsibility for how it is used.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify their need for further knowledge and to take responsibility for their knowledge development.
Examen
Examen som utbildningen syftar till
The Euroforester master's program aims for a master's degree with a major in forestry science. The master's degree is a general degree.
Examenskrav
A master's degree with a major in forestry science is achieved after completing course requirements (passed courses) of 120 higher education credits, of which at least 90 credits are at the advanced level, with the following requirements:
- At least 30 credits of courses with specialization in forestry science (A1N; A1F)
- At least 30 credits of independent work in forestry science (master's thesis/A2E)
- A completed bachelor's degree, professional degree of at least 180 credits, or equivalent foreign degree.
In the master's degree, courses of up to 30 credits may consist of courses at the undergraduate level, provided that these have not been included in the qualifying bachelor's degree or equivalent. All courses included in the degree must be at the higher education level, completely finished, and may not overlap or be similar in content.
