Behörighetskrav

To be admitted to the Trädgċrdsingenjörsprogrammet - design, the following requirements must be met:

• Matematik 2a or 2b or 2c
• Naturkunskap 2
• Samhällskunskap 1b or 1a1
  • The requirement for Naturkunskap 2 can be replaced with Biologi 1 and Kemi 1 and Fysik 1a or Fysik 1b1 + 1b2.
• Alternatively:
  • Matematik nivċ 2a or nivċ 2b or nivċ 2c
  • Naturkunskap, nivċ 2
  • Samhällskunskap nivċ 1b or nivċ 1a1
  • The requirement for Naturkunskap nivċ 2 can be replaced with Biologi nivċ 1 and Kemi nivċ 1 and Fysik nivċ 1a1 + 1a2 or Fysik nivċ 1b.
• Special eligibility also applies to those who, through Swedish or foreign education, practical experience, or due to other circumstances, have the prerequisites to benefit from the education.

Beskrivning av programmet

The program's first two years consist of compulsory courses, providing a foundation in the main field and covering studies and training in relevant methods and materials for landscape architecture and garden design. The courses cover cultural plants from both a natural science perspective and a design perspective. Furthermore, the program includes basic studies in soil engineering, garden history, and form theory. Skills in designing and shaping garden environments, both indoors and outdoors, are practiced throughout the program. Marketing and business economics are included in the program, and skills in written, visual, and oral presentation are continuously practiced.

The general goals for education at the basic and advanced levels are described in the Higher Education Act, Chapter 1, Sections 8-9.

Mċl för examen

In accordance with the appendix to the ordinance for the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the student must meet the following goals for the trädgċrdsingenjörsexamen:

• Kunskap och förstċelse: The student must demonstrate knowledge of the field's scientific basis, proven experience, and relevant methods.
• Färdighet och förmċga: The student must demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems related to the horticulture industry.
• Värderingsförmċga och förhċllningssätt: The student must demonstrate the ability to make judgments and handle issues related to cultivation, design, and entrepreneurship, taking into account relevant scientific, social, economic, environmental, and ethical aspects.

Examen som utbildningen syftar till

The Trädgċrdsingenjörsprogrammet - design aims to provide a trädgċrdsingenjörsexamen, which is a professional degree. Other degrees may be possible if the requirements are met.

Möjlighet till fortsatta studier

The student who has completed the education on the Trädgċrdsingenjörsprogrammet - design with a completed bachelor's degree has the opportunity to continue their studies at the advanced level.
