Program Overview

The Politices Kandidat - Hňllbar Utveckling program is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of sustainable development and its applications in various fields. The program combines studies in economics, political science, and environmental science to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address complex sustainability challenges.

Program Structure

The program consists of three years of full-time study, with a total of 180 higher education credits. The first year provides a foundation in economics, political science, and environmental science, while the second and third years offer specialization in either economics or sustainable development.

Specializations

The program offers two specializations:

• Nationalekonomi (Economics): This specialization provides students with a comprehensive understanding of economic theory and its applications in sustainable development. Students will study microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, as well as courses in environmental economics and policy.
• Hňllbar Utveckling (Sustainable Development): This specialization focuses on the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. Students will study courses in sustainable development, environmental policy, and natural resource management, as well as gain practical experience through fieldwork and project-based learning.

• F÷rvaltningsrńttslig ÷versiktskurs (Administrative Law Overview Course)
• Statistik f÷r ekonomer (Statistics for Economists)

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grundlńggande beh÷righet (Basic Eligibility)
• Matematik 3b eller 3c (Mathematics 3b or 3c)
• Samhńllskunskap 1b eller 1a1+1a2 (Social Science 1b or 1a1+1a2)

Exam Requirements

To graduate from the program, students must complete a total of 180 higher education credits, including:

• Minst 60 hp kurser inom huvudomrňdet nationalekonomi (at least 60 credits in economics)
• Minst 15 hp kurser med f÷rdjupning inom huvudomrňdet nationalekonomi (at least 15 credits in advanced economics)
• Minst 15 hp sjńlvstńndigt arbete inom huvudomrňdet nationalekonomi (at least 15 credits in independent work in economics)

Additional Information

The program is taught in Swedish, with some courses in English. The program is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of sustainable development and its applications, as well as practical experience and skills necessary for a career in sustainability.
