Sustainable Urban Development, Management, Organization and Administration - Master's program

Program description

The overall aim of the program is to provide in-depth knowledge in sustainable urban development. As the work to create sustainable solutions necessarily includes different perspectives such as ecological, social and economic, it is important for the basic idea of ​​the program that the students are recruited from different subject and professional backgrounds.


Eligibility requirements

In order to be admitted to Sustainable urban development, management, organization and administration - master's program you need:


  • Basic eligibility: degree at first level comprising at least 180 higher education credits or an equivalent foreign degree
  • Special eligibility: in-depth study comprising 90 credits in one of the following subjects/fields of study:
    • Architecture
    • Built environment
    • Property science
    • Physical planning
    • Business economics
    • Geography
    • Cultural and social geography
    • Landscape architecture
    • Landscape science
    • Leadership and organization
    • Environmental science
    • National economy
    • Community building and construction technology
    • Community planning
    • Political science Alternatively, one of the following professional degrees may have been taken: Architecture degree, landscape architecture degree, civil engineering or university engineering degree with specialization in construction technology, road and water construction or energy and environmental systems.

Contents

The program is given in collaboration with Malmö University and is also organized in close collaboration with public actors and businesses through various partner networks. The educational forms aim to create a constructive dialogue with important stakeholders in urban development.

  • Built environment: Master's thesis in the field of sustainable urban development, 15 credits (BY, A1E) (Malmö University)

Goal

The program aims at a master's degree with a major in landscape architecture, which is a general degree. Additional degrees may be possible if the requirements for these are met.


Degree requirements

The master's degree with the main field of landscape architecture is achieved after completing course requirements (approved courses) of 120 higher education credits with the following requirements:


  • At least 30 higher education credits courses with specialization in landscape architecture (A1N; A1F)
  • At least 30 higher education credits independent work in landscape architecture (master's thesis/A2E)
  • A maximum of 30 higher education credits may constitute courses at basic level, provided that these were not included in a qualifying bachelor's degree or equivalent In addition, a bachelor's degree, professional degree of at least 180 higher education credits or an equivalent foreign degree is required.

Career

The education prepares you for a leading role in processes, knowledge development and opinion formation in various organizations, administrations and companies that work with the development of sustainable cities. You can work partly within public organisations, for example at an urban planning office or an environmental administration, partly within the business world of companies that have an interest in urban development.
