Program Overview
Genuskompetens för Skogssektorn
Course Description
Genuskompetens för skogssektorn is a 7.5hp distance course that provides a fundamental understanding of gender issues in the forestry sector and equips students with analytical tools to work with gender, inclusion, and equality issues.
Course Objectives
The course aims to enable students to:
- Explain and apply basic concepts and theories of gender and equality
- Describe and discuss how gender and equality are addressed in relation to forest ownership and policy
- Describe how gender affects the organization and various challenges of practical equality work
- Analytically describe and reflect on how gender and equality are considered in the practical forestry sector and forestry academia
Course Content
The course is divided into four parts:
- Introduction to gender perspectives on forests and forestry (1.5hp)
- Organization and leadership (1.5hp)
- Forest relations (1hp)
- A final project (3.5hp)
