Global Ambassador Program
Overview
The Global Ambassadors Program (GAP) is designed to assist incoming students and scholars in their transition to life at the Colorado School of Mines. The program is overseen by the International Student and Scholars Service (ISSS) office and provides helpful resources to support the Mines community.
Program Details
The Global Ambassadors are a select group of knowledgeable, motivated, and enthusiastic international student leaders who leverage their unique cultural backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge to support the Mines community. Selected Ambassadors undergo an application, interview, and training process. The Ambassadors work in collaboration with ISSS on year-long projects aimed at amplifying the visibility, voices, and contributions of the entire Mines community.
Program Objectives
The program aims to connect new students with experienced international student leaders who can share their experiences and provide guidance on navigating life at Mines. The Global Ambassadors represent diverse academic backgrounds and countries from around the world and are eager to connect with new students and share their insights.
Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities
The Global Ambassadors are expected to maintain a professional and respectful relationship with their assigned peers. They are prohibited from signing or carrying out transactions on behalf of students and are required to obtain authorization from ISSS advisors before driving student groups to events.
Program Benefits
The program provides an opportunity for new students to connect with experienced international student leaders and learn from their experiences. The Global Ambassadors can provide guidance on various aspects of life at Mines, excluding visa or immigration, taxes, funding, or financial aid.
Program Schedule
The GAP Program is scheduled to open soon for fall 2026. The program will provide a platform for new students to connect with Global Ambassadors and learn from their experiences.
