Program Overview

Grewcock Presidential Scholars

The Grewcock Presidential Scholarship Program is an intense leadership development experience and a close-knit student community. Established in 2020, it prepares the next generation of civic and industry leaders, guided by a focus on intellectual curiosity, cross-disciplinary thinking, and emotional intelligence.

Program Overview

The program is inspired by Bruce Grewcock's managerial stewardship at Kiewit Corporation, where he led thoughtful and intentional leadership development programs for young managers. As a graduate of the Mines Class of 1976, Bruce Grewcock donated $30 million to his alma mater to establish the Grewcock Scholarship Program – the largest single charitable gift in the college's history.

Program Components and Expectations

The Grewcock Presidential Scholarship Program awards full tuition and mandatory fees for eight semesters. In addition to financial support, the program funds extracurricular opportunities with national leaders, skill-building workshops, and group travel. It is designed to complement students' technical education at Mines with multidisciplinary experiences outside of the classroom.

Student Community

The Grewcock Presidential Scholarship is a tight-knit student community. Students meet weekly for leadership development workshops, student-led programs, guest speaker presentations, and community-building activities. Grewcock Scholars also benefit from wraparound support, one-on-one advising, and specialized professional development events through the PASCAL Center.
