Program Overview


Program Overview

The Interdisciplinary Additive Manufacturing Research Experience for Teachers (IAM-RET) program is a 6-week full-time program on the Mines campus during June and July 2025. The program provides high school teachers with hands-on experience in 3D printing research and AM certification curriculum. This program also provides teachers with the opportunity to incorporate an interdisciplinary approach at their home high school's 3D course.


Program Details

  • Participate in cutting-edge 3D printing research with metals and ceramics.
  • Learn additive manufacturing (AM) certification curriculum and interdisciplinary application.
  • Develop curriculum for courses based on research experiences and AM certification education.
  • Participate with students in an AM expo on Mines campus in Spring 2025.

  • Selected participants will be notified in March 2025

Program Benefits

Upon successful completion of the 2025 summer program, each participant will receive a $7,000 stipend. Participants are expected to attend the program full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on the Mines campus.
