Program Overview

The Master of Science (Geology) program is a comprehensive graduate degree that requires students to complete 36 credits of coursework and research credits.

Program Requirements

• The program consists of 36 credits, with a maximum of 9 credits allowed for 400-level coursework.
• A minimum of 12 credits must be research credits.
• All candidates must complete an original research-based thesis.
• A thesis proposal and course of study must be approved by the student's Thesis Advisory Committee before commencing substantial work on the thesis research.

• The thesis must be based on original research conducted by the student.
