Introduction to the Creative Writing Major
The Creative Writing Major at Chung-Ang University is designed to foster future-oriented talents who can think convergently, beyond traditional genres. The major aims to educate students in creating new communication content that combines performance, video, and media.

- Performance and Video Media Convergence Major: This major focuses on educating professionals in performance and video, as well as creating convergent content.
- Media Storytelling Major: This major aims to train specialists in storytelling, based on literary narratives, to meet the new demands of various media.

- Plot Types and Creative Methodology: This course focuses on the core theories and various types of plots, aiming to develop students' storytelling abilities.
- Long Narrative Seminar: This course discusses the characteristics and conditions of long narratives, such as long novels, plays, and screenplays.
- Long Narrative Practice: This course provides training in creating long narratives through analysis and practice.
- Short Narrative Seminar: This course explores the characteristics and conditions of short narratives, such as short stories, short plays, and short screenplays.

Admission
Eligibility
To be eligible for admission, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor's degree or be expected to receive one, or have an equivalent or higher level of education recognized by law.
- For students in the academic credit bank system, a degree certificate or a certificate of expected degree completion must be submitted during the application period.
- International students must have a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) level 4 or higher.
- Part-time students are also eligible.

The evaluation criteria for document screening include:
- Academic plans

The evaluation criteria for in-depth interviews include:
- Knowledge level in the major field of study
- Academic connection between the previous university (or department) and the applied department, as well as relevant career experience
- Motivation for applying to the department and future plans after graduation
- Knowledge level in general subjects
- Logical thinking and creativity
- Other factors determined by the department
For international students residing abroad, a phone interview will be conducted. The interview will be recorded, and if the contents are found to be false or if admission was obtained through unfair means, the admission may be canceled.
Scholarships
The available scholarships include:
- New Student Academic Excellence Scholarship: 40% of tuition fees for the top student in the department, and 20% for other excellent students.
- International Student Scholarship: 50% of tuition fees (excluding admission fees) for international students who have passed the international student admission process. However, students with a GPA below 3.0 will not be eligible for the scholarship.
