Deans' Legal-Tech Fellowship
The Deans' Legal-Tech Fellowship is an interdisciplinary fellowship for Hofstra law and computer science students to develop artificial intelligence applications that will advance the legal profession. The Deans' Legal-Tech Fellows earn an exclusive opportunity that brings together law and computer science students to use their respective expertise to collaboratively improve our legal system.
Fellowship Facts
Each year, three Hofstra Law students and three Hofstra computer science students will be selected for the Fellowship. Recipients are awarded a $7,500 stipend per year. All law school students and computer science students are eligible to apply.
Application Process
The recipients of the Deans' Legal-Tech Fellowship are selected through an application process that includes submission of a written application, including a statement of interest, resume, and academic transcript, and an interview for selected candidates.
Selection Criteria
Criteria for selection of the fellowship recipients will include, among other things:
- strong problem-solving abilities
- willingness and ability to collaborate
- interest in innovation or technology
Law students who apply are not required to have a background in software development or computer science.

Eligibility
All law school students and computer science students are eligible to apply for the Deans' Legal-Tech Fellowship.
Stipend
Recipients of the Deans' Legal-Tech Fellowship are awarded a $7,500 stipend per year.
