Program Overview

The university program offers a variety of courses and activities for students. The program details are as follows:

Camp Hours and Dates

• Camp hours: 9am - 4pm
• Session 1: June 29 - July 10
• Session 2: July 13 - July 24
• Session 3: July 27 - August 7
• Session 4: August 10 - August 14
• Camp is closed on Friday, July 3rd

Important Dates

• Medication Drop Off Days: TBA
• A Medication Request Form must be filled out by the child's physician and sent to the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off
• Medication must be in the original container, including the label with the camper's name, dosage, and the prescriber's name

Course Details

Computer Hardware 2026

• For campers entering grades 7 - 11
• Early tuition: $2,300 per session
• Session 1: June 29 - July 10
• Session 2: July 13 - July 24
• Session 3: Not offered
• Session 4: Not offered
• Students will learn about computer components, including building, repair, upgrade, maintenance, operating systems, and virus protection
• Students will also learn about gaming systems and system integrators
• Topics covered include RGB lighting, overlocking, temperature, airflow, cores, hyper-threading, memory frequency, and graphic cards
• Instructors will differentiate instruction for those who may have previously taken this course and are looking to advance their skills

Computer Hardware and Networking

• Students will learn how gaming systems are made and what system integrators do
• Topics covered include RGB lighting, overlocking, temperature, airflow, cores, hyper-threading, memory frequency, and graphic cards
• Prerequisite: Introduction to Computer Hardware and Essentials

Schedule and Location

• These are full-day programs in Computer Hardware, which will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center
• All classes take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm

Health and Safety

• The opening of on-campus summer camp or any on-campus programs will be subject to all then-current New York State and Nassau County Department of Health requirements and guidance
• Any individual visiting the Hofstra campus or attending on-campus programs or camps will be required to follow all such rules and University policies relating to health and safety
• Participants will be notified of University policies prior to the start of any on-campus program
