The university program offers a variety of camps and activities for students. The camp hours are from 9am to 4pm.


Camp Dates

The 2026 camp dates are as follows:


  • Session 1: June 29 - July 10
  • Session 2: July 13 - July 24
  • Session 3: July 27 - August 7
  • Session 4: August 10 - August 14

Important Dates

  • Medication Drop Off Days: TBA
  • A Medication Request Form must be filled out by the child's physician and sent to the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off.
  • Medication must be in the original container, including the label with the camper's name, dosage, and the prescriber's name.

Forensics Camp 2026

Overview

The Forensics Camp is designed for campers entering grades 7-11. The camp will take place from June 29 to July 10.


Tuition

The early tuition for the Forensics Camp is $2,300 per session.


Program Details

Campers will learn how law enforcement professionals solve crimes and meet real professional Law Enforcement agents. They will learn about the legal requirements in obtaining evidence and maintaining proper chains of custody. Additionally, campers will learn about approaching and handcuffing a suspect and the legal requirements to effectuate an arrest. They will also learn communication skills, including writing formal reports and testifying in court.


Activities

Campers will participate in simulated crime scene investigations, including dusting of fingerprints, crime scene measuring, diagramming, and photography. They will also learn how to conduct various forensic evidence examinations, including blood spatter analysis, handwriting analysis, tire and tool marks, DNA fingerprinting, and the study of hair and fibers & textiles.


Schedule

The Forensics Camp is a full-day program that will take place at the Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes will take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm.


Take-Home Materials

Campers will take home their final crime scene diagram, the dusted and lifted fingerprint from the crime scene, and a copy of their inked fingerprints.


Health and Safety

The opening of on-campus summer camp or any on-campus programs will be subject to all then-current New York State and Nassau County Department of Health requirements and guidance. Any individual visiting the Hofstra campus or attending on-campus programs or camps will be required to follow all such rules and University policies relating to health and safety. Participants will be notified of University policies prior to the start of any on-campus program.
