University Program Information

The university offers a variety of programs for students. The details of these programs are as follows:

Program Descriptions

• Animal Care 2026: This program is designed for campers entering grades 7-11. It offers two sessions: Session 1 (June 29 - July 10) and Session 2 (July 13 - July 24).
  • Careers in Animal Care - Domestic Animals: This program allows students to explore career paths and develop practical handling skills for companion animals.
  • Careers in Animal Care - Exotic Animals: This program focuses on exotic animals, their habitats, diets, and enrichment needs.

Program Details

• Tuition Fee: Early tuition is $2,300 per session.
• Schedule: This is a full-day program that takes place at the Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center from 10am-3pm.
• Allergy Alerts: Campers with allergies to dander or fur should not enroll in this camp. Campers with oral or airborne peanut, tree nut, or pine nut allergies should not enroll in any Animal Care Programs.

Health and Safety

• The opening of on-campus summer camp or any on-campus programs will be subject to all then-current New York State and Nassau County Department of Health requirements and guidance.
• Any individual visiting the Hofstra campus or attending on-campus programs or camps will be required to follow all such rules and University policies relating to health and safety.
