The Culinary Arts Academy offers a comprehensive program in baking, providing students with a wide range of skills and knowledge in the culinary arts.

Course Description

The program focuses on teaching students various skills, including:


  • Methods for mixing and accurate measuring
  • Baking science
  • Artisan bread baking
  • How to make yeast dough, breakfast pastries, and more
  • How to prepare various fillings and icings

Schedule

The program consists of full-day classes, taking place at the Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center, located at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus. Classes are scheduled between 10am-3pm. However, if students opt to use Hofstra Summer Camps transportation, camp times may vary.
