The Precollegiate Academy Signature Experience is a one-week program designed for high school students entering grades 9-12. The program aims to inspire, challenge, and prepare students for college success.


Program Details

The program blends academic exploration with real-world insight, giving students a taste of campus life and intellectual discovery. The Signature Experience is a comprehensive blend of programming to support high school students in their preparations for college and career.


Program Components

  • College and Career Studies with Dr. Hanaa Wahba, which provides students with the opportunity to learn about the skills required to prepare for and successfully navigate college and career.
  • Path to College Writing with Professor Jennifer Marx, which helps students strengthen their writing skills through engaging lessons in style, structure, and voice.
  • Interactive workshops, which provide practical knowledge about the college application process, campus culture, and strategies for academic success.

Instructors

Dr. Hanaa Wahba

Dr. Hanaa Wahba is an experienced higher-education professional specializing in ESL, TESOL, and teacher education. She has extensive expertise in curriculum design, multicultural education, and innovative instructional methods.


Professor Jennifer Marx

Professor Jennifer Marx earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English and American Literature from Hofstra University. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Writing Studies and Rhetoric at Hofstra and believes that strong writing establishes pathways to success.


Program Schedule and Fees

  • The program is a full-day program.
  • There is an additional fee for transportation for one-week precollegiate camps.
  • Early tuition: $735 per week.

Health and Safety

The opening of on-campus summer camp or any on-campus programs will be subject to all then-current New York State and Nassau County Department of Health requirements and guidance. Any individual visiting the Hofstra campus or attending on-campus programs or camps will be required to follow all such rules and University policies relating to health and safety. Participants will be notified of University policies prior to the start of any on-campus program.
