Children's Music Education

The Children's Music Education program offers classes for young children.


Prelude

Ages 1-3 (first-time 3-year-olds enroll in Prelude) In this class, your child will have fun exploring the sights and sounds of our world. Students will enjoy listening to music, creative movement, songs, and games. The curriculum changes every semester. A caregiver must accompany your child to class.


Spring 2026 Classes

  • Dates: Feb. 8 through May 10 (12 Sundays), with no class on Mar. 1 and Apr. 5
  • Time: 1:30-2 p.m.
  • Location: Music Building, room 103
  • Fee: $150
  • Teacher: Laurie Rodriguez

Development

Ages 3-5 (first-time 3-year-olds enroll in Prelude) Your child will learn about our world through music games and activities in this class. Students will continue to learn about rhythm, dance, song, meter, and dynamics. They will also explore musical instruments. This class will help prepare your child to begin private music lessons. A caregiver must accompany your child to class.
