Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Management MSc

Course Information

• The Advanced Mechanical Engineering with Management MSc is a 12-28 month full-time course.
• The course combines advanced-level learning with management theory and practice.
• Start date: September 2026.

Course Description

• The technical focus of this degree is state-of-the-art methodologies and techniques relevant to the design of mechanical systems and components.
• The course covers fluid dynamics, solid structures, advanced and conventional materials, and control systems in combination with a rigorous introduction to management theories, models, frameworks, and techniques.

Entry Requirements

• Good second-class honors degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Mechanical Engineering.
• English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Fees and Funding

• UK Students: Ł12,400 (MSc), Ł12,400 (MSc with Industry).
• International Students: Ł25,100 (MSc), Ł25,100 (MSc with Industry).

Careers and Employability

• The course is designed to give students the tools to work towards a career in a wide variety of fields in the engineering and technical industries.

Course Structure

• Modules:
  • Core modules: Engineering Design Case Study, Fluid Instability, Transition and Turbulence, Advanced Solid Mechanics, Accounting and Finance for Non-Specialist Managers, International Business, Principles of Business Economics.
  • Option modules: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Advanced Composite Materials, Advanced Gas Turbines.
• Industry placement (optional): A paid industrial placement forms part of the course, including overall assessment through reflective learning.
