You will explore the medieval period through the lenses of war, religion, literature, philosophy, law, and politics, studying key themes and periods of this fascinating era.

Our academic staff have particular strengths in researching the history and literature of the Middle Ages, addressing themes such as power and conflict, archaeology and landscapes, gender and sexuality, religion and culture, and medicine.
